Lord Voldemort and avec

OMG this is so OLD. And I never draw fan art or anything!

Well, there’s a story behind this special piece of art: it was July and me and my really good friend have just finished the last Harry Potter book. I don’t think we had any discussions after that, but ‘cause we both like to draw we decided one thing: each of us draws one character from the series. The concept ‘fan art’ was really weird especially for me who nearly ever draws anything that’s not my own creation.

So, I did it. And I decided to draw Lord Voldemort, just because he happened to be my favourite character right from the start. (My friend drew Fred, so it’s nice that our fan arts are little bit different. ) I did like the way J.K. Rowling put him as a person, and well, badasses have always affected me somehow. Good old uncle Voldie didn’t make any difference at that point.

Ehh. While I drew this (yes, all those months) I listened Miyavi’s song called PapaMama ~Nozomare nu Baby~, ‘cause somehow I felt it helped me to get the right mood to draw. And now when I think deeper the meaning of the song, it somehow suits very well the character. (I don’t usually listen to Miyavi, but that song is the one I really like.)

The drawing! It took me so long for the reason I wanted to do this with time. The one time when I draw fan art must be done properly. ‘Nuff said. You probably don’t see his other sleeve, but I promise it’s there. And yes, he shouldn’t have a nose or eyebrows, but I always plead to the freedom of an artist.

Potter books were pretty OK. At the end they didn’t affect me the same way they once did, but I still enjoyed what I read.
